Suzumiya Haruhi PVC?!
| 'They' say a picture speaks a thousand words. Yes, the proverbial 'they', who say a lot of other things. Well, this time I'm inclined to agree. Although this picture only says two words to me, which are "BUY ME". ^^ I'm still not sure of the details, but this figure of Haruhi from the anime 'The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya' looks absolutely fantastic. Even if I wasn't a self-professed fan of the Haruhi Brigade, I would still think the figure looked great. Haruhi is shown in these pictures holding a very, very detailed and awesome electric guitar from when she stood in for a band and performed on stage during the cultural festival at her school. She's wearing her black bunny costume (as opposed to Asahina's red one), and shown winking and giving the thumbs up. I wouldn't care if she was showing the middle finger, she looks GREAT. The base is a nice star, and well...what can I say, she looks perfectomundo. Get your wallets ready fanboys, 'cause you know you're going to pay what it takes to get this baby. I'm not 100% sure it's a PVC figure, but it defintely looks like it. (Click for a larger image) EDIT: Well, some better-informed fellas have shattered my dreams, lol. It's a resin kit, and one of a kind at that. Just noticed the strings on the guitar, good god, that's amazing. But that won't stop me from waiting patiently for a figure as lurvely as this one to appear. Aaah...one can dream. =) Simply awesome.>>> Toyzlog Tags: PVC Figures, Figurines, Toys, Anime, Anime Toys, Japanese Toys, Suzumiya Haruhi, The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Tenjou |

post a commentSpeaking of Haruhi, do you know if there would be a continuation of "Melancholy"? I heard that the next series would be "The Sigh of Haruhi Suzumiya", will there be an anime on that?
- MENJ
Wow, that was a fast comment, haha. No, I'm not too sure if there will be a continuation in anime form. Although, considering 'Melancholy' was quite a success (judging from the hordes of Haruhi fans I see), there should be a sequel in the offing.
'Melancholy' is the 1st of 8 Haruhi novels, just in case you didn't know this. And yea, 'Sighs' is the 2nd volume. The 14-episode run was actually a mix of "The 'Melancholy', 'Sighs', 'Boredom' and 'Rampage' of H.Suzumiya. Here's a nice link for more info.
Cheers. =)
from what I know from the 4chan thread, it's a resin kit. Apparently only one of these babies exist, I'm not sure. Hopefully a company will come around and license teh design from the creator.
Woah now! That is definitely NOT a PVC but a resin design sculpted by the great and talented BUBBA. But one can hope that Bunny-girl Haruhi may be mass produced in the near future. Love the detail on the guitar.
I agree with the above. The detail on that kit looks a bit too high to be a PVC Kit. I'd get one regardless if it ever came out tho.
Even if it's a PVC, I'd get it and that's saying something since I usually avoid PVCS, Only the Bome TenTen figures and the alter KOSMOS kit were deemed good enough to buy.
Thanks for the heads up guys. Yea, I wasn't really sure, but I knew posting it in the blog would get me some info. ;)
Whoever Bubba is, that Haruhi is spectacular. And if any Haruhi figurine has quality anywhere near this, I'd definitely spring for one.
Do you have the source? Becuse my usual official japanese figure sites do not have that figure.
I'm assuming that's a resin kit figure.
RESIN?! You mean they spray painted everythin? MUST BE DAMN HARD TO DO THE STOCKINGS.
Must be the 10th time I've someone say, "Oh my god! How did they do the stockings?!?!?" :-)
It ain't rocket science. ;-) If you study the photograph carefully, you'll note that the stockings aren't sculpted or painted on.
It's an actual mesh material slipped onto the legs.
You can get mesh tights like that from 1/6th scale figure suppliers.
Hell, just go down to your grocery store. Some produce companies use very similar mesh 'tube' bags to package their heads of garlic.
